🥖 Forville Market, the real Cannes at sunrise
Before the Croisette wakes up, head to Forville Market: local produce stalls, fishmongers calling out the morning catch, cheesemongers and florists. This is where Cannes’ chefs do their shopping, and the atmosphere alone is worth the early start, even if you’re not buying anything.

🎶 Nocturnes Cannoises, evening markets by the sea
Every evening this week (except Monday and the weekend), a different neighbourhood comes alive for the Nocturnes Cannoises: local crafts, street food, and open-air live music until midnight. A perfect stroll after the beach.

🎆 Bastille Day fireworks — Poland lights up the bay
France’s national holiday closes in style with the International Fireworks Festival: this year, Poland’s Nakaja Art sets the sky over the bay of Cannes ablaze. The display is exceptionally moved to 11pm, in tribute to the victims of the 2016 Nice attack. Stake out a spot on the Croisette early, or watch from your balcony for a front-row seat.

Parking tip: streets around the Croisette fill up fast on fireworks nights. Walk if you can, or park a little further out early and finish on foot — much easier than circling by car after 9pm.
🎤 Chris Isaak at the Palais des Festivals
The velvet voice behind ‘Wicked Game’ stops in Cannes for one night only. Chris Isaak performs in the Grand Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals, with Mathilda opening — an elegant evening just a short walk from your door.

🎉 Fête de la Saint-Cassien, the Provençal soul of Cannes
Head to La Bocca for three days of traditional Provençal festivities: folk parades in traditional costume, an aubade, an open-air mass, and a big France Gall tribute concert on Saturday night. A dive into authentic Cannes, far from the glitter of the Croisette.

🎭 André Malraux exhibition, Île Sainte-Marguerite
A half-day escape that changes everything: a 15-minute boat ride from the Vieux-Port takes you to Fort Royal, on Île Sainte-Marguerite, for an exhibition dedicated to André Malraux at the Musée du Masque de Fer. A great excuse to combine culture with a swim in turquoise water.
