🎆 The Pyrotechnic Art Festival sets the bay alight
On Tuesday evening, settle in on the Croisette or on the sand and look up. Around 10 pm, the Bay of Cannes bursts into a thousand colours as France, with the Aquarêve company, takes its turn in this international fireworks competition. A free ballet of sound and light over the Mediterranean — a truly suspended moment.
Parking tip: the town centre fills up fast on fireworks nights. Head for the Palais des Festivals or the train-station car parks, arrive early… or simply walk if you’re staying near the Croisette.

🎧 Les Plages Électroniques turns 20
The weekend is set to be electric. From Friday 7 to Sunday 9 August, the Palais des Festivals beach becomes one of Europe’s biggest beach parties. Feet in the sand, facing the sunset, you dance from 2 pm to 12:30 am across several stages. For this fully reimagined anniversary edition, the line-up goes big — with DJ Snake closing the Sunday night.

🌙 The Nocturnes Cannoises, neighbourhood by neighbourhood
On weekday evenings, as the heat fades, the Nocturnes Cannoises take over. Craftspeople, designers and small producers set up their stalls from 7 pm to midnight in a relaxed summer-stroll atmosphere. The perfect after-dinner wander, just minutes from your door.

🥬 Marché Forville, the belly of Cannes
To taste Provence on a plate, head to the Forville market at the foot of Le Suquet. Tuesday to Sunday, 7 am to 1 pm, the stalls overflow with flowers, cheeses, freshly landed fish and sun-ripened fruit. Grab a basket, chat with the producers and put together the day’s picnic.

🎨 André Malraux on Île Sainte-Marguerite
Fancy an escape out to sea? Just fifteen minutes by boat from the Vieux-Port takes you to Île Sainte-Marguerite. At Fort Royal, the Musée du Masque de Fer is hosting an exhibition devoted to André Malraux, on until 31 October. Umbrella pines, turquoise water and culture: the ideal break, far from the crowds.
